Poor Things

I got a parking ticket to watch this - thankfully it was worth it. Leaves you with loads to think about but the main thing it struck me with initially after watching is how insanely powerful conditioning is and how it encompasses nearly everything in this world. Not that this is a new observation but seeing it demonstrated in a unique way was cool.

The wide angles with the striking skies, and the title flash cards (especially the one where Bella walks across fingers) are amazing. Think my favourite shots from it are when Bella and Max are walking through the trees though - just so beautiful and makes you feel like you haven’t seen colours that rich before (which I think was the idea to represent Bella experiencing the world for the first time).

Feel like I might get more perspective on meanings and messages the more I think/read about it (although I think Yorgos said there’s not specific messages just representations of conflict). Emma Stone was class as usual - to get completely lost and invested in her character, given Bella’s obscure nature and given she doesn’t actually physically look that different to herself is so impressive to me.
